What helps us answer faster

Please do not send us your password or a one-time code. We will never ask for either.

Common questions

My one-time code never arrived

Check the spam folder first — codes come from no-reply@familinx.app. If it is there, mark it "not spam" so the next one lands properly. Codes expire, so ask for a fresh one rather than using an old email. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, write to us with the address you used.

I signed up with Google and now I am asked for a password

Use Continue with Google every time, with the same Google account. An account created with Google does not have a password until you set one.

I changed my email address

The address on the account is how you sign in, so write to support@familinx.app from the old address and tell us the new one.

Family and invites

How do I get my family in?

Settings → Family → Invite someone. Share the link or the code with them. They install Familinx, create an account and enter the code; a parent approves the request.

Can I be in two families?

No — one account belongs to one family at a time. Leave the first family before joining another.

Someone joined who should not have

A parent can remove them in Settings → Family → Family Members. Then generate a new invite code, because the old one is still a key.

Syncing

My phone and my partner's phone show different things

Familinx saves to the phone first and syncs after, so a phone that has been offline is behind until it is back on. Open the app on both phones with a working connection and give it a moment. If they still disagree after that, write to us — that is a bug, not a setting.

Two of us edited the same thing at once

The later change wins, and both devices end up showing it. Nothing is silently merged into a third version.

Budget

What is the difference between a shared and a personal account?

A shared account is the family's: everyone sees it and the transactions in it. A personal account is yours alone — nobody else in the family can see it or what is in it.

Money I put into a savings goal is not counted as spending

That is deliberate. Money set aside is not money spent, so a contribution to a savings goal does not count towards a monthly cap.

Can I use more than one currency?

You can keep accounts in different currencies. Familinx does not convert between them — amounts keep the currency they were recorded in, and the monthly caps count the accounts in the family's cap currency.

Notifications

I get too many notifications

Settings → Notifications → What you get notified about lets you switch them off by type, rather than all at once.

I get none at all

Check that Android's own notification permission is granted for Familinx (Android Settings → Apps → Familinx → Notifications), then that the type is enabled in the app, and that battery optimisation is not putting the app to sleep.

Privacy and your account

Do you track me?

There are no ads and no advertising identifier. Crash reports and usage statistics are off unless you turn them on in Settings → Notifications. Our Privacy Policy lists everything we hold.

How do I delete my account?

From Profile → Delete Account. The account deletion page explains what goes and what stays with your family.

Reporting a security problem

If you have found a vulnerability, please tell us at support@familinx.app before telling anyone else, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it. Describe what you found and how to reproduce it. We are grateful for the report and will not pursue anyone who reports in good faith and does not access other people's data.
